Tape Tabs - Frequently Asked Questions...
What Is The Difference Between Single And Double Sided Tape Tabs?
The difference between single sided and double-sided tape tabs is simple, double sided tape tabs are applied to create a sandwich with two tape hair extensions.
Whereas, single sided tape tabs are applied to one side of the hair and one tape hair extension. This is especially beneficial for those clients who have fine hair.
When Would I Use A Single Sided Tape Tab?
When your client has fine hair it will often be beneficial to you to use a single sided Tape Tab. If your client has fine hair their hair may not be able to support the weight of two tape hair extensions,so a single sided tape tab will be best to ensure the Tape Hair Extension doesn’t cause damage to the clients own natural hair.
How Do I Prepare A Tape Tab For Application?
Firstly, you must ensure that for all applications the hair is cleansed properly prior. Make sure you use our Remi Cachet Pre-Application Shampoo which is a clarifying products to remove any excess residue or oils on your client’s hair. This will result in the tape tabs fusing to clean hair and significantly reducing the likelihood of the tapes slipping.
Make sure you firmly seal the tabs together which can be done using our Tape Hair Pliers to apply additional pressure for an extra grip.
A key area you need to look at when prepping Tape Tabs before application is also temperature…
Before applying, please ensure that the tape has acclimatised to the correct temperature before application. Making sure the tape has been at an optimum temperature of 18°C - 22°C for at least 24 hours contributes to the performance of the application.
