Q4 Business Tips For 2023

Q4 is fast approaching. The last quarter of the year, October to December is the busiest time of the year so this is a great opportunity for us to share our top tips to help you maximise your sales for this period…

We love the advice given by Nergish Wadia-Austin for Hairdressers Journal about maximising sales in quarter 4. So, we have taken five of our top tips from this wonderful article and expanded on these opportunities.

1. Ask Yourself “What Are My Best Sellers?”

By asking yourself this question and answering it using the information you have for the last year (including last year’s Q4), you will be able to build a list of the products you need to ensure are stocked up to help you get prepared for the upcoming period and ensuring you have the right amount of stock to be able to upsell other products to your clients.

2. Maximise All Opportunities

Whether it’s noticing trends from your discussions with your clients, seeing what’s trending in your area or both, it is important that you are aware of the product opportunities you have with every client that walks through your door.

Do you offer alternative products to your main product portfolio? If not, why not? Utilising the opportunities you have across hair extensions is great. But, if you are not maximising the opportunities you have with other product areas such as aftercare, haircareand styling tools, you are missing an opportunity to upsell and maximise sales.

3. Education Is Key

Whether you’re self-employed or a salon manager, it's important that you and/or your staff are educated about the services you offer and the products you sell. Why? Because your clients will be more than likely to invest in the products from someone/a salon who is passionate and knowledgeable. The more you know about the products the more information you can give to your clients, helping you to maximise on your revenue.

If you need some help with this, of course, we are here to help. Not only do we have a variety of materials that provide you with the knowledge you need about our product portfolio including our Product Brochureand Elegance Sample Pack, but we also offer specialised training.

In summary, with our training you can explore a range of hair extension methods under the mentorship of expert extensionists where we ensure you’re equipped with the latest techniques and best practices to excel as a hair extension professional. 4. Act Now

Over this busy period, expect to see enquiries, demand, sales, and everything increase. For that, you need to prepare, so our advice is to act now.

It’s important to start planning as soon as possible. This not only refers to ensuring that you have enough stock for the period (tip 1) but it is also important to prepare for the sales your stockists are sure to be running over this period. Stockists will maximise this busy period by running a number of sales across Q4 so we advise you to prepare for this. Again relating back to tip 1, taking note of your best-selling products as well as the products you may need to restock in the period will prepare you for when the sales go live so you can get these at a lower cost price.

5. Don't Forget About Q1

Whilst Q4 is super busy, it is important to not forget about Q1 approaching. Typically Q1 is a quieter time, so make the most of the opportunities you have in Q4 to benefit you for the following period. An example of how this can be done includes offering discounts for your services. Using this strategy is specifically great to drive clients into your business during “January Blues” by offering them a beauty boost with your services for less.
