Our 2023 Hair Colour Predictions

At Remi Cachet, we love a new year as this is a great time for a new look. If you’re unsure about the expected hair colour trends for 2023, we have done our research and are here to help you. Get ready for plenty of inspiration and the colours you need from Remi Cachet to use on your clients to make 2023 their best hair year yet…

1. Pantone Colour Of The Year - Viva Magenta

What better way to start the predicted 2023 colour trends than with Pantone’s very own colour of the year. Back in December, Pantone had spoken and confirmed Viva Magenta as their colour of the year for 2023. Described as an “unconventional shade for an unconventional time” the colour is a “nuanced crimson tone that balances warm and cool”.

Pantone’s colour of the year is always an important one to take into consideration as it is intended to reflect the latest trends across many sectors; including hair.

Multi-award-winning hair stylist and Global Brand Ambassador of FudgeJonathan Andrew explains to Professional Hairdresser that in 2023 he expects an influx of pastel tones, especially with this colour of the year becoming popular.

Moreover, Kayleigh Johnson founder of Hex Hairdressing explains to Salon Business that Viva Magenta can be for every client regardless of their bases“ it can be dark and muted on darker bases and more vibrant on lighter bases.” So, the opportunities are endless to make this work for your clients if they want to go vibrant in 2023.

So, “how can I create this colour with Remi Cachet hair extensions?” you may be wondering. Our answer? Colour 530.This stunning cherry shade of red is the one you need to work with this trend.

Here is just one of our favourite looks using 530, created by @jofoxhair

2. Colour Blocking

Mane Addicts predict that “Colour Blocking” is one to make an impact in 2023, and here at Remi Cachet we are already seeing this look frequently in action. Mane Addicts specifically describe Colour Blocking as the “money pieces more commanding cousin” and we couldn’t agree more.

We think that the best thing about this trend is that as a stylist, the creative freedom you have to create this look, there are no rules with what two colours you choose. This, therefore, allows you to make the look you create yours and your client’s own. We certainly can’t wait to see the looks you create.

@ultravioletsalonhq was ahead of the trend back in July with this gorgeous mix of colours 1 and 55.

3. Copper

It has been a regular feature in our trends blog posts throughout 2022 and Copper shows no signs of stopping in 2023. Described by Hairdressers Journal specifically as “Girl Next Door Copper” the magazine describes this as the “ultimate blend of copper and gold”.

To achieve this look, the colour you need is 33, just like @divamaneextensions used this on-trend, glamorous look.

4.Illuminated Brunette

Aswell as predicting the impact Pantone’s Colour Of The Year will have on the industry, Jonathan Andrew also highlights that he thinks "soft-light brunettes will be on trend too." Explaining further to Professional Hairdresser he says the look “elevates the usual darker tones with soft highlights that are a few shades lighter than the all-over brunette. It gives a face-framing colour tone that really just makes the colour pop; this creates a stunning multidimensional finish.” Stunning.

Plus, it’s not just Jonathan predicting this trend but also Allure Magazine has this in their list of "The Top 2023 Hair Colour Trends..." Describing this as “the best of both worlds - the glowiness of blonde with the mystery of brunette” and using J-Lo as the prime example, of course.

Using colour 2/8 this look created by @beigehairdressing is the ultimate inspiration for this trend.

5. Champagne Blonde

Also on the list for Jonathan Andrew for Professional Hairdresser is “Champagne Blonde”, a new variation of the blonde tones we have seen continuously evolving over 2022. Jonathan explains in line with the “resurgence of many 70s hairstyles” he predicts we will be seeing a lot more of this tone in 2023.

Further describing that “the champagne tone really compliments bigger, more dimension hair” So, if your clients are wanting to switch up to a new blonde tone or are wanting a new look completely, maybe Champagne Blonde could be the one?

Using a mix of colours 55/60 & 18/60, we adore this colour created by @hairofdreams_for the ultimate inspiration.
